Senior Estimator – Civil Infrastructure | Sydney NSW
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our client’s team in Sydney, delivering major civil and earthworks.
This is a key commercial role suited to an estimator with strong experience in earthworks and civil infrastructure, with a solid background in first principles estimating.
About the Role
Location: Sydney, NSW
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: Up to $200.000 a year
You will play a critical role in the pre-contracts phase, preparing accurate cost estimates and supporting tender submissions across civil infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed first principles estimates
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Develop BOQs, cost plans, and tender submissions
- Review subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Identify project risks, cost drivers, and value engineering opportunities
- Support tender strategy and commercial decision-making
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and senior stakeholders
- Assist with handover to delivery teams post-award
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience as an Estimator in civil infrastructure
- Proven experience in contractor-side estimating
- Strong capability in first principles estimating
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong commercial and analytical mindset
- Civil Engineering or Construction-related qualification preferred
- Full Australian working rights
