Project Engineer – Earthworks | Sunshine Coast QLD (Contract Role)
We’re seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our client’s team on the Sunshine Coast, supporting the delivery of major earthworks and civil infrastructure projects.
This is a 6–8 month contract role, ideal for an engineer with strong site coordination experience and a solid background in earthworks, bulk excavation, civil construction, and project delivery.
About the Role
Location: Sunshine Coast, Queensland
Employment Type: Contract – 6 to 8 months
Salary / Rate: Competitive, DOE
You will work closely with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure earthworks packages are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of earthworks and civil infrastructure projects
- Coordinate subcontractors, plant, materials, and site activities
- Assist with construction programming, sequencing, and daily planning
- Prepare and manage ITPs, RFIs, QA documentation, and site records
- Review drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies
- Monitor progress, productivity, safety, and quality compliance
- Support procurement, cost tracking, and progress reporting
- Identify site issues and assist with practical engineering solutions
- Liaise with supervisors, project managers, subcontractors, and stakeholders
Requirements
- Experience as a Project Engineer in civil construction
- Strong background in earthworks projects essential
- Experience in bulk earthworks, excavation, roadworks, drainage, or civil infrastructure highly regarded
- Local Australian project experience desirable
- Strong understanding of QA processes, ITPs, RFIs, and site documentation
- Civil Engineering qualification or equivalent
- Full Australian working rights
