J391 Site Engineer – Utilities / ITS | Melbourne VIC
We’re seeking experienced Site Engineers to join our client’s team in Melbourne, supporting the delivery of utilities and ITS works across a civil infrastructure project.
This is a contract role for approximately 4 to 5 months, suited to engineers with experience in pit and pipe, conduits, utilities, services coordination, ITS infrastructure, or similar civil construction works. Project Engineers with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
About the Role

Duration: 4 to 5 months
You will support the delivery of site-based civil infrastructure works, working closely with project engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and construction teams to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the delivery of utilities, ITS, pit and pipe, conduit, and civil infrastructure works
- Support daily site coordination across active construction areas
- Work closely with supervisors, subcontractors, project engineers, and site teams
- Assist with QA documentation, ITPs, checklists, and site records
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Support procurement tracking, materials coordination, and subcontractor activities
- Prepare daily reports, progress updates, and construction documentation
- Assist with resolving site issues and coordinating work fronts
- Ensure works comply with quality, safety, and project requirements
- Support the Project Engineer and Project Manager as required
Requirements
- Experience as a Site Engineer on civil construction or infrastructure projects
- Experience with utilities, ITS, pit and pipe, conduits, services, or road infrastructure highly desirable
- Australian civil infrastructure project experience desirable
- Strong understanding of site coordination, QA, and construction documentation
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and technical specifications
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with supervisors and subcontractors
- Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Melbourne-based availability or ability to work in Melbourne for the contract period
- Full Australian working rights
- Valid driver’s licence
