We’re seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join a leading contractor based in Melbourne, working across a diverse range of building and infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in the estimating phase and understands the unique challenges of the Australian construction landscape.

Location: Melbourne, Victoria
Job Type: Full-time
Salary Range: AUD $120,000 – $140,000 + Super (depending on experience)
As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in developing accurate and competitive pricing for upcoming projects. You will collaborate closely with pre-construction and project delivery teams to ensure clear, data-driven estimates that align with project requirements.
Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed and accurate estimates from design documentation and scope requirements

Evaluate subcontractor quotes and supplier pricing for best value

Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and bid packages

Maintain and improve cost databases for future use

Participate in project handover meetings and support project teams post-award

Ensure all estimates reflect realistic timelines, productivity rates, and market conditions
Requirements:

4–6 years’ experience in construction estimating

Proven ability to deliver estimates for civil or building projects

Proficiency with estimating software such as CostX, Buildsoft, or similar

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and documentation abilities

Local estimating experience in Australia is highly desirable
