Electrical Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer – Civil & Electrical Infrastructure | Melbourne VIC

We’re seeking an experienced Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer to join our client’s team in Melbourne, working across electrical, civil, and industrial infrastructure projects. This full-time position offers a competitive salary (DOE) and an opportunity to contribute to large-scale, high-specification projects in the rail, water, high voltage, data centre, and pharmaceutical sectors.

You will be responsible for managing and coordinating civil and electrical construction activities on site, including trenching, conduit and pit installation, plinths, earthing systems, substations, and switchrooms. This role involves significant interface management between civil, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all civil and electrical construction activities on-site

• Support project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking

• Manage interface between civil, electrical, and mechanical trades

• Supervise subcontractors and ensure safety and quality compliance

• Implement and maintain QA/QC documentation and ITPs

• Conduct inspections, verify test results, and complete as-built documentation

• Liaise with clients, inspectors, and commissioning teams

• Support testing, commissioning, and system energisation activities

• Promote strong site safety culture and adherence to risk assessments and SWMS

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent qualification

• 3–8 years’ site-based experience in electrical infrastructure or industrial construction (data centres or pharmaceutical preferred)

• Construction White Card (essential)

• LVR/CPR, confined space, and first aid certifications (advantageous)

• Strong technical knowledge of civil and electrical delivery methods

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
