Site Engineer / Project Engineer – Civil, Pavements & Asphalt | Melbourne VIC (Contract Role)

We’re seeking experienced Site Engineers and Project Engineers to join our client’s team in Melbourne on a contract basis, supporting the delivery of major civil, pavement, and asphalt projects across Victoria.

This role is ideal for engineers with solid civil construction experience who are looking to join a high-performing project delivery team working on fast-paced road and pavement upgrades.

You will contribute to the planning, coordination, and delivery of civil and pavement works, ensuring construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily delivery of civil, pavement, and asphalt construction activities

• Prepare and manage short-term programs, ITPs, and project documentation

• Coordinate subcontractors, plant, and materials on site

• Conduct QA inspections and ensure compliance with design specifications

• Assist in preparing progress reports, cost tracking, and project records

• Interpret drawings, specifications, and survey set-out information

• Monitor safety, environmental controls, and overall site performance

• Liaise with supervisors, project managers, and external stakeholders

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Site Engineer or Project Engineer

• Background in civil, pavement, or asphalt construction essential

• Strong understanding of road construction, earthworks, and QA processes

• Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate site resources

• Proficiency in project documentation, specifications, and construction methodologies

• Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline

• Full Australian working rights
