Supervisor – Civil Infrastructure & Pipeline Projects | Melbourne VIC (Contract Role)

We’re seeking an experienced Supervisor to join our client’s team in Melbourne, delivering major civil infrastructure and pipeline projects across Victoria. This is a contract role with the strong possibility of becoming full-time, depending on performance.

Ideal candidates will have experience across steel pipelines, HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling), or HDPE pipelines, along with solid site leadership capability on civil construction projects.

You will oversee day-to-day project delivery, coordinating crews, subcontractors, plant, and materials to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant construction activities. The role will support pipeline, civil, and utility upgrades with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily onsite construction activities across civil and pipeline projects

• Manage crews, subcontractors, and plant to meet program and productivity targets

• Ensure all works comply with project drawings, specifications, and ITPs

• Oversee steel pipeline, HDD, and HDPE installation works

• Conduct daily pre-starts, toolbox talks, safety inspections, and risk assessments

• Monitor QA processes, testing requirements, and site documentation

• Coordinate with project engineers, managers, and external stakeholders

• Report on progress, risks, delays, and resource needs

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure environmental compliance

• Assist with site logistics, scheduling, and work sequencing

Requirements

• Experience as a Supervisor within civil infrastructure or pipeline construction

• Background in steel pipeline, HDD, or HDPE pipeline works highly regarded

• Strong understanding of civil construction, utilities, and QA processes

• Ability to lead and coordinate teams on fast-paced works

• Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

• Valid White Card and full Australian working rights

• Availability to commence in a contract capacity, with potential for full-time
