Project Engineer / Site Surveillance – Civil Infrastructure | Adelaide SA

We’re seeking an experienced Project Engineer / Site Surveillance Officer to join our client’s team in Adelaide, supporting the delivery and oversight of major civil construction and infrastructure projects across South Australia. This full-time role includes a company vehicle and offers long-term career development within a respected contractor.

As a Project Engineer / Site Surveillance Officer, you will monitor construction works, ensure compliance with design and specification requirements, and support project delivery through engineering input, field surveillance, and stakeholder coordination.

This role suits candidates with strong civil engineering foundations who enjoy a mix of office and field-based work.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site surveillance on civil construction projects across Adelaide and regional SA

• Monitor works for compliance with drawings, specifications, ITPs, and quality requirements

• Identify construction risks, non-conformances, and corrective actions

• Provide engineering support to site teams and project managers

• Review method statements, construction programs, and QA documentation

• Coordinate with contractors, clients, and stakeholders regarding on-site issues

• Prepare surveillance reports, progress updates, and technical documentation

• Ensure safety, environmental, and quality standards are maintained at all times

• Assist with procurement, RFIs, and project administration as required

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in civil construction projects

• Strong understanding of roadworks, earthworks, drainage, pavements, or utilities

• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and technical specifications

• Experience in site surveillance, QA, or compliance monitoring desirable

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify construction issues early

• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or similar

• Full Australian working rights

• Valid driver’s licence (vehicle provided by client)
