Position: Construction Safety Advisor

Location: FIFO from Queensland

Salary Range: AUD $130,000 – $150,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

About the Opportunity

We are actively seeking experienced Construction Safety Advisors for FIFO positions originating from Queensland. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in construction safety, with a strong preference for those with marine construction backgrounds. This role offers the chance to work on significant projects, ensuring safety protocols are upheld to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce comprehensive safety policies and procedures, ensuring strict adherence to industry regulations and standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites to identify potential hazards, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Provide safety training sessions and inductions for all site personnel, fostering a culture that prioritizes safety.
• Lead investigations into any safety incidents or near-misses, compiling detailed reports and recommending preventive measures.
• Stay updated on relevant safety legislation and ensure all site activities comply with legal requirements.
• Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to integrate safety considerations into all phases of project planning and execution.

Requirements

• At least 3 years in a safety advisory role within the construction industry; marine construction experience is highly desirable.
• Cert IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) and Cert IV in Training and Assessment.
• In-depth understanding of Australian safety legislation, standards, and best practices.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven track record of promoting a positive safety culture.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
