Contract Administrator – Electrical & Infrastructure Projects | Melbourne VIC

We’re seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join our client’s team in Melbourne, supporting the delivery of major electrical and infrastructure projects across Victoria. This is a full-time position ideal for candidates with strong commercial acumen and experience working within electrical contracting, civil construction, or large-scale infrastructure environments.

As a Contract Administrator, you will play a key role in managing project documentation, procurement, cost control, and subcontractor engagement. You’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and in line with contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer contracts, variations, progress claims, and subcontractor payments

  • Prepare and manage procurement packages, purchase orders, and contract documentation

  • Review subcontractor agreements and track compliance, insurances, and onboarding

  • Maintain cost control systems, forecasts, and commercial reporting

  • Analyse project documentation, drawings, and specifications for contractual risks

  • Prepare RFIs, tender comparisons, and financial reports

  • Assist with budget tracking, cash-flow monitoring, and commercial reviews

  • Liaise with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to resolve commercial issues

  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, timely, and aligned with company systems

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in contract administration, preferably within electrical contracting or infrastructure projects

  • Strong understanding of commercial processes in civil, electrical, or infrastructure environments

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and commercial/project management software

  • Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Commerce, or similar
