Contracts Administrator – Construction Projects | Melbourne Suburbs VIC

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to join our client’s team based in the Melbourne suburbs. This is a full-time, office-based role supporting the commercial management of construction projects across Victoria.

This opportunity is ideal for a mid-level Contracts Administrator with 3–6 years of experience looking to grow within a structured commercial team managing contractor payments, project variations, and subcontract agreements.

About the Role

Location: Melbourne Suburbs, VIC
Employment Type: Full-Time (Office Based)
Salary: $140,000 – $160,000 Base

As Contracts Administrator, you will play a key role supporting project delivery by ensuring contractual compliance, payment assessment, and commercial documentation management across active construction projects.

You will work closely with project managers, commercial teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage contractor payment claims, ensuring contractual compliance and accurate processing
  • Develop, review, and manage project variations and change orders
  • Track and manage commercial documentation and project workflows
  • Prepare and administer subcontract agreements and supplier contracts
  • Review project documentation to ensure compliance with contract terms
  • Coordinate with project teams to maintain commercial reporting and records
  • Support procurement and contract negotiation processes
  • Maintain accurate contract registers and commercial documentation

Requirements

  • 3–6 years’ experience as a Contracts Administrator or similar commercial role
  • Experience in construction, infrastructure, or engineering projects
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, variations, and payment claims
  • Ability to review subcontract agreements and commercial documentation
  • Strong organisational and documentation management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination ability
  • Construction Management, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying qualification desirable
  • Full Australian working rights
