Engineering Surveyor – Civil & Commercial Projects | Melbourne VIC (Contract Role)

We’re seeking an experienced Engineering Surveyor to join our client’s team in Melbourne, supporting a strong pipeline of civil infrastructure and commercial construction projects. This is a contract role with rates depending on experience, and sponsorship is available for strong candidates.

This opportunity suits surveyors with hands-on experience using 12D software and 12D Field, with exposure to modern survey equipment across active construction sites.

You will work closely with project engineers and construction teams, providing accurate set-out, control, and survey support across civil and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform engineering surveys including set-out, control, as-builts, and verification surveys

• Prepare and manage 12D models and field data for construction teams

• Provide survey support for civil infrastructure and commercial building works

• Operate Leica total stations and GPS equipment (desirable)

• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and digital models

• Maintain accurate survey records and site documentation

• Liaise with engineers, supervisors, and project managers to ensure alignment

• Ensure survey activities meet quality, safety, and project requirements

Requirements

• 2–3 years’ experience as an Engineering Surveyor

• Proven experience on civil infrastructure and/or commercial construction projects

• Strong proficiency in 12D software and 12D Field (essential)

• Experience with Leica Total Station and GPS highly regarded

• Ability to manage survey tasks independently on active sites

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Relevant qualification in Surveying or Spatial Sciences

• Full Australian working rights or eligibility for sponsorship
