J405 – Mechanical Project Engineers | Sydney
We are seeking experienced Mechanical Project Engineers to join our client’s team on a major tunnelling project in Sydney. This is a full-time opportunity offering a salary of $120,000–$135,000, depending on experience.
The successful candidates will have demonstrated experience working with Herrenknecht tunnel boring machines (TBMs). Australian project experience is desirable; however, proven Herrenknecht TBM experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of mechanical systems associated with Herrenknecht TBMs.
- Provide technical engineering support to construction, tunnelling and maintenance teams.
- Prepare and review mechanical work packs, methodologies, inspection plans and technical documentation.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and specialist equipment technicians.
- Monitor project progress, quality, safety, costs and programme requirements.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement practical solutions to minimise equipment downtime.
Requirements
- Demonstrated Mechanical Project Engineering experience involving Herrenknecht TBMs.
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of TBM mechanical systems, installation, commissioning and maintenance.
- Experience within tunnelling, underground infrastructure or major civil construction projects.
- Australian project experience is desirable.
- Full Australian working rights.
