Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer – Civil & Marine Infrastructure | Hobart TAS

We’re seeking an experienced Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer to join our client’s team in Hobart, delivering complex civil and marine infrastructure projects across Tasmania. This is a full-time opportunity with relocation expenses provided, plus a company vehicle and fuel.

This role suits engineers with strong technical capability in marine works who are looking to relocate and take on high-impact infrastructure delivery.

Salary: 130.000 – 170.000 + super, DOE

You will play a key role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of civil and marine construction works, working closely with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver civil and marine infrastructure projects including wharves, jetties, coastal structures, and associated civil works
  • Coordinate subcontractors, plant, and materials across marine and land-based scopes
  • Manage construction programs, methodologies, and sequencing of works
  • Review drawings, specifications, ITPs, and QA documentation
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Support procurement, cost tracking, and project reporting
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, and internal teams
  • Mentor and support Site Engineers and junior staff (Senior role)

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience delivering civil and marine infrastructure projects
  • Background in marine works such as ports, wharves, jetties, or coastal structures highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, QA, and specifications
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and complex site activities
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Full Australian working rights
