Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer – Civil & Rail Infrastructure | Melbourne VIC
We’re seeking an experienced Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer to join our client’s team in Melbourne, delivering major civil and rail infrastructure projects across Victoria.
This is a full-time opportunity for an engineer with strong site delivery capability, particularly in ITPs, RFIs, and project coordination within complex rail environments.
About the Role
Location: Melbourne, Victoria
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: Up to $170,000 + Super (DOE)
You will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of civil and rail infrastructure packages, ensuring compliance, quality, and program targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver civil and rail infrastructure packages in line with project milestones
- Prepare, manage, and close out ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans)
- Manage and respond to RFIs (Requests for Information)
- Coordinate subcontractors and site teams
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Monitor quality assurance and compliance processes
- Assist with procurement, cost tracking, and forecasting
- Support construction programming and sequencing
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and rail stakeholders
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
Requirements
- Minimum 4+ years’ experience in civil and rail infrastructure projects
- Proven experience managing ITPs and RFIs
- Strong understanding of QA documentation and compliance requirements
- Experience working on rail corridors or transport infrastructure highly regarded
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Local Melbourne / Victorian experience desirable
