We’re seeking an experienced Resource Manager to join our client’s team in Sydney, managing the allocation of people and plant resources across major civil and infrastructure projects. As Resource Manager, you’ll oversee the planning, allocation, and utilisation of blue-collar staff and plant equipment. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you’ll manage the allocator and plant administrator while driving efficiency, compliance, and performance across active projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and allocate workforce 2–8 weeks in advance to meet project schedules and targets

• Monitor project controls, including reports and site feedback, to identify issues and drive improvements

• Oversee plant and equipment utilisation, maintenance, and external hire to optimise efficiency and reduce costs

• Manage and support the allocator, plant administrator, and training coordinator to ensure staff competency and compliance

• Attend site and project meetings to ensure clear communication, lean practices, and operational efficiency

• Address blue-collar performance issues and ensure teams are resourced to deliver safely and on time

Requirements

• Proven leadership experience managing blue-collar teams in construction

• Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills

• Background in civil construction, with focus on cost control, productivity, and efficiency

• Knowledge of HSEQ requirements and industry standard operating procedures

• Analytical thinker with the ability to resolve resource and operational challenges
