Safety Coordinator – Civil, Roads & Subdivisions | Brisbane QLD

We’re seeking a proactive Safety Coordinator to join our client’s team in Brisbane, supporting the safe delivery of civil, road, and subdivision projects. This is a full-time role ideal for someone with a strong understanding of site safety, compliance, and WHS systems in the civil construction industry.

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive, DOE

As the Safety Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for implementing and maintaining safety systems on active project sites. You’ll work closely with project engineers, site supervisors, and management to ensure compliance with WHS regulations, company policies, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor safety performance across civil and infrastructure sites

• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and toolbox meetings

• Support development and implementation of WHS documentation, including SWMS and JHAs

• Report incidents, track corrective actions, and ensure compliance with legislation

• Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and clients on all safety matters

• Promote a positive safety culture and continuous improvement in site practices

• Maintain records, incident registers, and audit documentation

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Safety or HSE role within civil construction

• Background in roads, subdivisions, or infrastructure projects

• Solid knowledge of WHS legislation and industry compliance standards

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to site safety

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum requirement)

• Full Australian working rights
