Senior Project Engineer – Utilities Infrastructure | Brisbane QLD

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our client’s team in Brisbane, working across large-scale utilities and infrastructure projects. This is a long-term opportunity to lead project delivery within a respected contractor known for its technical capability and strong pipeline of civil works across Queensland.

As Senior Project Engineer, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of utilities infrastructure projects. You’ll manage engineering teams, subcontractors, and project delivery from design through to completion—ensuring all works meet safety, quality, and budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of utilities and civil infrastructure projects in accordance with scope, budget, and schedule

• Oversee design coordination, procurement, and subcontractor management

• Develop and maintain construction programs and short-term look-aheads

• Monitor progress, report on performance, and manage risks proactively

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and HSEQ requirements

• Support project forecasting, cost control, and resource allocation

• Foster collaboration between engineers, field teams, and project stakeholders

• Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers and site staff

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline

• Minimum 6+ years’ experience, including 4+ years in utilities infrastructure projects

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and complex project scopes

• Strong understanding of water, sewer or electrical infrastructure

• Proven experience delivering projects within budget and on schedule

• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

• High level of attention to detail and safety focus
