We’re looking for experienced Senior Site Engineers to join a leading contractor in Melbourne, delivering large-scale steel structure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with hands-on steel experience to step into a senior role on high-profile builds.

Salary Range: AUD $120,000 – $150,000 + Super (depending on experience)
You’ll play a key role in overseeing structural steel installations and on-site coordination, contributing to the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of major steel packages across commercial or infrastructure builds.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and manage the delivery of structural steel works on site

Review and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication details

Coordinate subcontractors, steel installers, crane operators, and other trades

Monitor construction progress, identify risks, and maintain site documentation

Ensure compliance with WHS, quality, and environmental standards

Liaise with project managers, design teams, and suppliers for technical support

Contribute to solving design and installation challenges as they arise
Requirements
-
5–6 years of experience as a Site Engineer working on steel or structural packages

Strong understanding of steel erection, bolting, welding and installation processes

Experience coordinating structural subcontractors on mid-to-large projects

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills

Proficiency with site tools, drawings, and construction documentation

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or similar qualification)
