Site Engineer – Civil, Utilities & ITS Projects | Melbourne VIC

We’re seeking motivated Site Engineers to join our client’s team in Melbourne, working across large-scale civil and infrastructure projects involving static signage, lighting, drainage, utilities, and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).

About the Role

Location: Melbourne, Victoria

Employment Type: Contract role

Salary: Competitive, DOE

As a Site Engineer, you’ll play a hands-on role coordinating on-site activities, managing subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and design specifications. You’ll work on a diverse mix of civil works including static roadside signage, public lighting installations, drainage and pavement works, and utility relocations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate civil construction works across multiple project areas

• Deliver static signage (roadside & elevated) and public lighting installations

• Manage drainage, pavement, and utility protection/relocation works

• Support Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) installations and commissioning

• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers to meet project goals

• Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and design documentation

• Ensure quality assurance, WHS, and environmental compliance across all site works

• Prepare and maintain daily site reports and progress updates

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification

• 2–4 years’ experience in civil, utilities, or infrastructure projects

• Experience with signage, lighting, drainage, utilities, or ITS works highly regarded

• Strong technical and organisational skills with attention to detail

• Ability to interpret construction drawings and manage multiple work fronts

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Full Australian working rights
