Site Engineer / Project Engineer – Tunnelling | Sydney NSW
We are seeking a Site Engineer or Project Engineer to join our client’s team in Sydney, supporting the delivery of major tunnelling and underground infrastructure projects.
This is an initial 3-month contract role, ideal for engineers with strong site experience in tunnel construction environments. Experience in microtunnelling will be highly regarded.

You will work closely with project managers, supervisors, and site teams to support tunnelling works, ensuring construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of tunnelling and underground infrastructure works
- Coordinate site activities and subcontractors
- Prepare and manage ITPs, RFIs, and QA documentation
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies
- Monitor construction progress and sequencing
- Ensure compliance with project safety and environmental standards
- Assist with procurement and materials coordination
- Liaise with supervisors, engineers, and project stakeholders
Requirements
- Experience as a Site Engineer or Project Engineer on tunnelling projects
- Microtunnelling experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of QA processes including ITPs and RFIs
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience coordinating site activities and subcontractors
- Local Australian project experience desirable
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Full Australian working rights
